The Veil
The inner curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet, worked with cherubim, dividing the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. Only the high priest passed through it, once a year, not without blood.
Symbolic meaning
The barrier between God and man in the flesh.
Christological significance
"By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh" (Heb 10:20). At the crucifixion the temple veil was torn from top to bottom (Mt 27:51).
