Noah's Ark
A vessel of preservation — not architecture for worship, but the first structure God commanded to be built to a plan.
Overview
Before there was a tabernacle or a temple, there was an ark. Not the ark of the covenant, but the wooden vessel by which God preserved a remnant of every kind through the deluge. Its dimensions were given directly by the Creator, and its purpose was singular: to keep alive that which He would not destroy.
Glory
God shut him in (Gen 7:16). His preserving presence went with the ark itself.
Fate of this house
The vessel came to rest upon the mountains of Ararat as the waters receded. Scripture does not preserve its afterlife; the covenant of the rainbow succeeded it.
